BUDGET

11 crore INR and above (USD1.48 million and above)

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Jhansi Fort is a living testimony of ancient valour and sacrifice. The town of Jhansi has become a haven for history lovers who like to know about the stories of Rani Lakshmi Bai.

Jhansi Smart City Limited wanted to retell the life of Lakshmi Bai, the twenty-two-year-old Rani of Jhansi who died in a fight with the British East India Company during the Indian Mutiny of 1857-1858.

The objective of the Advanced SEL show was to provide the necessary impetus to tourism in Jhansi Smart City along with an increase in local footfall. Evening light and the sound show will make tourists and visitors stay the night in the city, and boost tourism.

• We designed the 35-minute SEL show in line with the history, tradition, and culture of Bundelkhand and Jhansi Fort (Hindi & English language) with voice-over, 5.1 surround sound, 20 moving heads, and 10 laser lights, attracting visitors from far distances.

• The Outdoor 270 Degree Projection Mapping sound-and-light show centers on an eye-catching 83m-wide projection canvas on the walls of the Jhansi Fort. The 35 minute presentation is programmed with show composer software and played back on ten laser, 26 washers, 33000 4K-UHD projectors.

What did the client want to achieve?

The advanced sound and light show at Jhansi Fort has a primary goal of highlighting the cultural and historical importance of the Jhansi Fort.

JSCL’s intention was to utilize the grand display as a strategy to boost tourism around Jhansi. The 270 degree projection mapping show was designed to enchant and engage the audience, creating an alluring invitation that would attract a greater number of visitors to explore and experience the historical significance of the heritage site.

The use of projection mapping, renowned for its captivating allure, was intended to provide audience members with an interactive and enlightening experience. Through an immersive visual display, JSCL aimed to educate spectators about Jhansi Fort’s rich history, cultural legacy, and monumental significance.

The projection mapping technology, as a testament to modern innovation and artistic ingenuity, served as a platform for JSCL to showcase their technological prowess as well as emphasize events based on the real-life narrative of Rani Laxmi Bai, thus providing a unique perspective on historical occurrences.

What key challenges were faced?

The site was quite challenging as the project requirement was creating a 270-degree outdoor projection mapping show. The customer wanted the show to be delivered two months before the original timelines owing to the visit of Hon. PM of the country to Jhansi. We along with all sub vendors worked day & night to achieve it. The outcome was spectacular with applause coming in from all corners and everyone who visits the site appreciated the show.
1) Time constraint – Timely completion was a paramount requirement of users, we, therefore, had to deploy additional manpower and resources to accomplish the work within the squeezed workable period, and thereby, we were in a position to complete our installation work by working night and day.
2) Earthing challenge – As the site is on the height of ground level and there are many stones in that area and it was very difficult to do earthing.
3) Permission from ASI to work at the site- As the site was under ASI (Archaeological Survey of India), even if we need to put a small nail on the wall of the Fort then permission was required. So to work at the site we have taken a lot many permissions to work within the time frame. As the site was under the ASI, all the work needed to be done without harming the site in any way.

How were those challenges resolved?

1) Time constraint – Every stakeholder involved in the project was lined up on time as per the agreed-upon schedule. To expedite the progress of the project, we made the strategic decision to increase our workforce. Our dedicated team demonstrated an unwavering commitment by working tirelessly, both day and night. This collaborative endeavour, exemplified our determination to meet our project objectives and deliver results that met or exceeded expectations.
2) Earthing Challenge: The need for earthing sensitive equipment posed a significant hurdle. Beneath the site, a rocky and stony terrain necessitated thorough inspections to identify locations where the presence of rock wouldn’t impede the earthing process
3) Permission from ASI to work at the site- The project was executed diligently, strictly adhering to the guidelines set forth by the ASI. This ongoing communication was aimed at swiftly securing the essential permissions that were needed to move forward with the project. The collaborative effort between our team and the authorities ensured that we were working within the regulatory framework and complied with all necessary procedures.

Additionally, it serves as a strong tourist spot, enhancing the local economy and promoting a strong sense of pride in and kinship with Jhansi’s cultural history. Additionally, this project fosters local creativity and talent, offers job possibilities, and acts as a hub for civic involvement and cultural events. In essence, the projection show is a perfect way to uplift the city’s cultural preservation, economic prosperity, and rich history and is a monument to explore more.

Our immersive show is a fitting tribute to the great warrior queen, and we are proud to share her legacy with the world in such a grand and immersive manner.
